Age
60 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Older adults aged 60 to 75 years; enrolled in the Regional Center for Studies and Activities for Older Adults of the University of Passo Fundo program; physically healthy; physically active with a minimum of 150 minutes of physical activity per week; free from uncontrolled neurological, metabolic, or musculoskeletal disorders that may interfere with plantar sensation, tactile sensory acuity, or postural control; capable of performing the proposed assessments and intervention procedures; able to ambulate independently; available to attend all study-related activities throughout the intervention period; willing to participate and provide written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with peripheral neuropathies; Diabetes Mellitus associated with peripheral sensory impairment; lower-limb amputations; significant vestibular disorders; neurological diseases affecting balance or gait; significant cognitive impairment; blindness; use of assistive devices for ambulation; uncontrolled musculoskeletal disorders that limit the performance of the proposed exercises or interfere with plantar sensation, tactile sensory acuity, or postural control.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
An improvement in postural control is expected after six weeks of intervention, assessed through anteroposterior and mediolateral center of pressure sway obtained by static baropodometric analysis, comparing values collected before and after the closed kinetic chain resistance training protocol performed under barefoot and shod conditions.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Favorable changes in plantar pressure variables are expected after six weeks of intervention, assessed through maximum pressure, mean pressure, and plantar contact area obtained by static baropodometric analysis, comparing values collected before and after the closed kinetic chain resistance training protocol performed under barefoot and shod conditions.
