Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: have answered negatively to all the sentences of the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PARQ); be a member of the Brazilian Army; be between 18 and 26 years old; not having had any type of musculoskeletal injury for at least the last six months; male individuals

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: not being able to fully implement the predicted protocols; not being able to participate in the intervention due to medical recommendations; missing 3 (three) training sessions; make use of medications and/or supplements that may interfere with the results

expected outcome 1: It is expected that both treatments provide gains in muscle strength, measured by the test of one maximum repetition, with superiority for the daily undulating periodization ;expected outcome 2: It is expected that both treatments are expected to provide gains in lean mass, measured by the dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry technique, with superiority for daily undulating periodization;Outcome found 1: A significant increase was observed in the experimental groups of 30.97% in the traditional periodization group and 36.02% in the daily undulating periodization group in muscle strength; in the control group, a significant increase of 13.24% was observed. The magnitude of the effect size of the traditional periodization group and the daily undulating periodization group of moderate and large, respectively, was observed; in the control group the small magnitude of the effect size was observed;Outcome found 2: A significant increase was observed in the experimental groups of 2.07% in the traditional periodization group and 2.95% in the daily undulating periodization group in lean mass; in the control group, no significant increase was observed. The magnitude of the effect size was observed in the traditional periodization group and in the trivial and small daily undulating periodization group, respectively; no effect was observed in the control group
