Interventions

This is a clinical, chronic study lasting eight to ten consecutive weeks. A minimum of 108 volunteers will be recruited and distributed into 4 groups. Initially will be recruited two parallel groups f

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 45 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals with an age between 18 and 45 years old; individuals in the eutrophic group must have a body mass index between 18.5 and 24.9 kg per m2; body fat percentage of up to 25 for men and up to 30 for women; waist circumference less than 88 cm for women and 102 cm for men; individuals in the excess weight group must have a body mass index of at least 27 kg per m2; body fat greater than 25 percent for men and 30 for women; waist circumference greater than 88 cm for women and 102 cm for men

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with other chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, renal or hepatic dysfunction, anemia and inflammatory diseases not related to obesity; individuals who have a habit of consuming kombucha; make regular use of antiinflammatory drugs, corticosteroids or other drugs that affect lipid or glucose metabolism; make use of antioxidant and vitamin supplements; used antibiotics less than 3 months before the beginning of the study; have had infectious or allergic episodes in the last month; individuals under weight-loss diets or that do not have a stable weight in the last 3 months; have aversion to kombucha; have alcohol intake greater than 105 g of ethanol per week for women and more than 210 g of ethanol per week for men; smokers; pregnant and lactating women

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find a reduction in body fat in kilograms through the bioimpedance and bone densitometry method of at least 5% compared to the value at the beginning of the study

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find modulation of the salivary and intestinal microbiota through the 16S sequencing method, based on the change in the composition of abundance and diversity of bacteria considering an alpha of 5% compared to the beginning of the study;It is expected to find a decrease in cardiometabolic, inflammatory, oxidative stress, endotoxemia and metabolite profile parameters by laboratory analytical methods according to the protocol recommended by the manufacturer, of at least 5% compared to the value at the beginning of the study;It is expected to find lower quantity and size of adipocytes, adipokines and miRNAs associated with obesity through the 5% subcutaneous adipose tissue extraction method compared to the beginning of the study
