Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Participants must be between 18 and 59 years old; presence of muscle imbalance, identified by a difference greater than or equal to 10% in muscle strength between the lower limbs and/or presenting values within the upper quartile among all those evaluated, if difference greater than or equal to 5% and medical clearance to perform the test training, provided by the physician associated with the study (Dr. Francisco Wekerlin Morozowski)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Participants will be excluded from the research if they present alterations that make it impossible to complete the questionnaires or understand the guidelines and carry out the tests; systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 90 mmHg; cannot have more than one risk factor for thromboembolism, which includes: (1) body mass index greater than or equal to 30 kg.m-2; (2) diagnosis of chronic inflammatory disease; (3) history of pelvic, hip, and femur fractures; (4) major surgeries in the last 6 months; (5) diagnosis of varicose veins in the last 6 months; (6) family history of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism; (7) use of oral contraceptive methods; or (8) tobacco use
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| It is expected to find a significant increase in muscle strength (peak torque, N.m), verified using the Biodex Multi-joint System dynamometer method (Biodex Medical Systems. Inc. Shirley. NY. USA), from a variation in measurements pre and post intervention (12 weeks). | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| It is expected to find a significant increase in muscle thickness (cm), verified using a portable B-mode ultrasound (US) device Version 1.10 (Konica Minolta, Sonimage HS1 model), based on a variation in pre- and post-operative measurements. intervention (12 weeks).;It is expected to find a significant improvement in the spatiotemporal gait parameters (step length, meters; stride length, meters; stride width, meters; step time, seconds; stride time, seconds; stance time, seconds ; single support time, seconds; double support time, seconds; swing time, seconds; cadence, steps.min-1; coefficient of variation (quotient between the standard deviation of the outcome and its mean), verified and analyzed through Zeno Walkway (120Hz) and ProtoKinetics Movement Analysis Software, respectively, based on a variation in pre- and post-intervention measurements (12 weeks). | — |
