Interventions

This is a randomized controlled clinical trial with a parallel design, conducted with 40 adult and older participants diagnosed with systemic arterial hypertension, randomly allocated into two groups:

30 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals of both sexes.Age equal to or greater than 30 years.Sedentary or irregularly active for at least six months (not meeting greater than or equal to 150 minutes per week of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous physical activity).Diagnosis of systemic arterial hypertension (SAH), stage I or II, according to the Brazilian Hypertension Guidelines.Use of antihypertensive medications of any class.Medical clearance for physical exercise (medical statement/report).Agreement to sign the Informed Consent Form (ICF)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cognitive impairment that compromises the ability to respond to the initial assessment questionnaire.Diagnosis of type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus.Relevant endocrine diseases.Current smoking.Orthopedic or neuromuscular conditions that prevent the performance of the exercises.Changes in medication during the study.Cardiovascular symptoms such as palpitations, exertional angina or other conditions that prevent continuation of the protocol.Pregnancy.Attendance lower than 75% of the scheduled sessions

It is expected to observe a reduction in 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and improvement in central hemodynamics in individuals with systemic arterial hypertension, verified through ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and central hemodynamic analysis, based on the comparison of pre- and post-intervention values

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to observe a reduction in 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and improvement in central hemodynamics after 12 weeks of Mat Pilates training, verified through ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and central hemodynamic analysis, based on the comparison of pre- and post-intervention values;It is expected to characterize heart rate and perceived exertion during Mat Pilates sessions, verified through heart rate monitoring and application of the Borg scale, based on the observation of values recorded throughout the sessions;It is expected to characterize individuals with systemic arterial hypertension regarding anthropometric aspects and physical performance, verified through anthropometric assessment and standardized physical tests, based on the description of values obtained in the initial assessments;The expected outcome is to find an association between changes in 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and central hemodynamic parameters, assessed through statistical correlation analysis, by comparing the variations between pre- and post-intervention measurements.
