Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children of both sexes; aged 9 to 12 years; with a multidisciplinary diagnosis of Developmental Dyslexia; from outpatient clinics of the Hospital São Paulo, Paulista School of Medicine of the Federal University of São Paulo

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncorrected auditory sensory deficits; uncorrected visual sensory deficits; epilepsy; metallic implant in the skull or hearing aids

It is expected to obtain a process protocol for the development of a controlled, randomized, and double-blind clinical trial in neurorehabilitation, associating neuromodulatory techniques (Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation) and a speech-language pathology therapeutic program. Verified by the detailed description of the steps and procedures developed for the protocol. A theoretical-practical model of the association of tDCS and MLT aiming at a more effective and faster treatment of Specific Reading Disorders was observed;To evaluate the effectiveness of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) associated with Multilevel Reading Therapy (MLT) in the rehabilitation of Dyslexic patients. Verified through speech-language pathology, neuropsychological, and neurological assessments performed before the intervention, up to one month after the end of stimulation, and six months after tDCS stimulations. Significant improvements are expected in tests of Oral Comprehension, Pseudoword Repetition, Rapid Naming, Phonological Awareness, Reading Fluency (rate, accuracy index, and accuracy), and Reading Comprehension, with measurable and statistically relevant results between active intervention and placebo groups, in addition to identifying the best area to be stimulated (left parietal-occipital cortex or left temporo-parietal junction)

t is expected to characterize the feasibility and safety of applying Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) associated with Multilevel Reading Therapy (MLT). Verified by the occurrence and frequency of minimal side effects (itching or tingling) during tDCS application, as well as the ability to complete the proposed sessions in the pilot protocol;It is expected to develop a replicable study model for the association of neuromodulatory techniques and speech-language pathology. Verified by the clarity and reproducibility of the developed process protocol, facilitating the execution of new clinical trials in rehabilitation with non-pharmacological functional therapy
