Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1: It is expected that women whose partners participated in the intervention will experience better levels of satisfaction with childbirth. To this end, the results of the QESP Childbirth Experience and Satisfaction Questionnaire were observed. The questionnaire is composed of different approaches ranging from the experience of pain, expectations regarding childbirth, fears and concerns, satisfaction, support, relaxation strategies, and the significant presence of the support network and partner. The questionnaire contains 104 items and was developed by Costa, Figueiredo, Pacheco, Marques and Pais (2004). The items are divided into eight subscales: Conditions and Care Provided; Positive Experience; Negative Experience; Relaxation; Support; Partner Support; Concerns; Postpartum ;Outcome found 1: It is highlighted that elements associated with a positive experience, such as self confidence, active participation in childbirth, expectations, partner support, and monitoring by healthcare professionals, contribute to a more positive childbirth experience. On the other hand, negative experiences, such as fear, relaxation, discomfort, and pain, contribute to lower satisfaction scores and lead to a negative childbirth experience. All subscales of the QESP Childbirth Experience and Satisfaction Questionnaire are associated with the total scale, and some of them have a significant connection that reflects greater satisfaction with childbirth, including the positive experience, negative experience, partner support, and postpartum period

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 2: It is expected that partners in the intervention group will be more satisfied with their participation in labor than partners in the control group. For this purpose, a self-report form prepared by the researcher was used to assess how satisfied the partner feels with his/her participation in labor, considering three moments: prenatal, labor and postpartum;Outcome found 2: Regarding the participation of partners, it is worth highlighting the fact that access to the course, that is, the group that carried out the intervention, showed greater satisfaction with their participation in labor/delivery
