Psychomotor Performance Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity

Interventions

This is an experimental, controlled study, blinded to participants, with a crossover design, conducted with 32 children and adolescents diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

7 Years to 16 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male sex; age between 7 and 16 years; diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; currently using medication for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; absence of musculoskeletal injuries; no contraindication to Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants who do not complete the tasks related to motor performance assessment or the application of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
o evaluate global motor performance in children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. An improvement in global motor performance is expected after anodal transcranial direct current stimulation compared to sham stimulation across the assessment time points. This outcome will be verified using the standardized assessment method of the Movement Assessment Battery for Children Second Edition. Total standardized scores and percentiles will be observed at pre-test, Post 1, and Post 2, considering improvement as a significant increase in these values in the active stimulation group compared to the control group

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate domain-specific motor performance in children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Improvement is expected in manual dexterity, aiming and catching, and balance after anodal transcranial direct current stimulation compared to sham stimulation, with a greater difference expected in manual dexterity. This outcome will be verified using the Movement Assessment Battery for Children Second Edition, observing standardized scores at pre-test, Post 1, and Post 2, considering improvement as a significant increase in these scores in the active stimulation group compared to the control group
