Experimental group: 44 caregivers of elderly people with dementia will receive on their smartphones or tablets a mobile application about the caregiver's burden for daily use for a period of 30 days
every 7 days they will receive a follow-up call on such use. Control group: 44 caregivers of elderly people with dementia will receive, verbally, standardized information about the caregiver's burden,

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be an informal caregiver of an elderly person with dementia; have an age of 18 years or more; being in the function of informal caregiver for the minimum period of 60 days; be literate; have some familiarity with the use of mobile electronic devices (smarthphone, tablet); have electronic device of the type smarthphone or tablet; accept the storage of the mobile application developed on your smarthphone or tablet; present suggestive scores of overload in two of the subscales of the Caregiver Reaction Assessment (CRA), version adapted and validated for use in Brazil.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: To present some cognitive limitation of response to baseline information (questionnaires and instruments).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of the overload of the informal caregiver of the elderly with dementia, measured by the Brazilian version of the Caregiver Reaction Assessment instrument.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Increased knowledge of the caregiver about dementias, and about the care offered to the elderly with dementia, ascertained by a questionnaire elaborated specifically for this evaluation.
