Post polio syndrome, muscular weakness, muscular fatigue, international classification of functioning, disability and health

Interventions

Will be participating in the study 32 patients diagnosed with Post Polio Syndrome of both genders and aged 40 to 75 years. Individuals will perform 14 treatment sessions, with two weekly sessions last

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with SPP established by the consensus of Healsted & Rossi (1985), patients who are not performing rehabilitation and or physical exercise during the application of the treatment protocol, patients with muscle strength greater than or equal 3 on shoulders and elbows

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients unable to commit to the established protocol of 14 virtual reality therapy sessions, patients presenting shoulder anterior and or inferior subluxation clinically assessed by palpation greater than or equal to 2 fingers,patients with deformities in the upper limbs that make it impossible to train with the videogame

Analyze the safety and applicability of nintendo wii sports games for post poliomielitys syndrome patients;The following scales shall be used MFM-32 scale is a validated motor function measure for patients with neuromuscular diseases ;Test box and block which is a test of manual dexterity for upper limbs

Check the effects of the nintendo wii sports videogame on the functionality of patients with post poliomielitys syndrome ;Verify the occurrence of adverse events such as fatigue and pain resulting from training with the nintendo wii sports video game;The following scales and measures shall be used: MIF scale that verifies the Functional Independence Measure of the patients ;The functional range test adapted to the sitting position to verify the flexibility of patients ;Severity of Fatigue Scale that verifies the presence of muscular fatigue ;Visual analog pain scale that checks the presence or absence of pain
