| To verify the effect of laser acupuncture associated with a protocol of progressive resistance exercises for the knee extensor and flexor muscles, hip abductors and adductors on pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis, using a Numerical Pain Scale at rest and in movement before and after treatment, taking into account an estimated difference of 20% between the placebo and laser groups at the end of treatment | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Evaluate functionality with the Lequesne algo-functional questionnaire before and after treatment;Assess quality of life with SF-12 before and after treatment;Assess the range of motion of knee flexion and extension with a goniometer before and after treatment;Assess the muscular strength of the flexor muscles, knee extensors, hip abductors and adductors with maximum resistance before and after treatment;Assess walking performance using the six-minute walk test before and after treatment;Assess overall improvement at the end of treatment using a Likert scale | — |
