Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Have 18 years or more; to be submitted to the argon laser retinal photocoagulation procedure; have indication of bilateral achievement; perform the procedure due to very severe proliferative or nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy; and agree to participate in the survey after signing the consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Alteration of auditory acuity; not liking music or associating it with negative experiences; have already performed the procedure previously; and have taken painkillers for the past six hours.
