Interventions

A prospective randomized clinical trial involving 24 patients with incisal wear will be conducted to test and compare the color matching of three single-shade composite resins (Charisma Diamond One, K
Omnichroma, Tokuyama, Japan (control)
Essencia Universal, GC, Japan) (n=16 teeth per group, 8 patients per group). The resins will be previously randomized by simple draw and each patient will receive only one resin brand. The identificat

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Volunteers aged between 18 and 70 years; with indication for direct incisal reconstruction in composite resin; attended at the Removable Partial Dentures extension project of the Dentistry Course at the Federal University of Santa Catarina

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with pronounced incisal wear requiring indirect reconstruction; presence or history of painful symptoms and/or temporomandibular disorder treatment; presence of uncontrolled systemic disease; patients with mental disorders, dementia, Alzheimer's, or cognitive disorders; previous periodontal disease with residual dental mobility; smokers and/or alcoholics; pregnant or breastfeeding women will be excluded from the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the color matching of single-shade composite resins applied to the incisal edge of anterior incisors presenting occlusal wear

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Compare the color of the remaining tooth to that of the single-shade composite resin applied in incisal reconstruction, immediately after isolation removal and 1 week after restoration fabrication;Investigate the influence of tooth dehydration on the color matching of single-shade composite resins, comparing the color before and after removal of absolute isolation;Compare the color matching of different brands of single-shade composite resins applied in incisal reconstruction
