Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be male, enjoy good systemic health, clinical diagnosis of arterial hypertension and use of medication for this, ages between 40 and 70 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Being female, inability to sit in a sitting position, musculoskeletal disorders, hospitalization episodes in the last 3 months, indigenous ethnicity and quilombolas, pathology acquired during the research that causes hospitalization, absence on the day of assessment and data collection, ingestion of any substance that may influence the results.

The articulatory technique in the thoracic spine was able to send aferenstimuli to the autonomic nervous system, altering the variability of the heart rate and also increasing the mobility of the rib cage. In the RMSSD variable of heart rate variability, there was an increase in this paramyster, considered parasympathetic, therefore an improvement in parasympathetic tone, in moment post technique in the orthostatic position, between the placebo and intervention groups, and this increase in the group significant intervention with p=0.002, on the first day, not remaining the lasting effect until the fourteenth day. ;With the stimulus of increased thoracic mobility, there was an increase in the Variable SDNN of heart rate variability, a significant difference between the intervention group and placebo of p= 0.004, in the post-technique, in the orthostatic position, on the first day. After the intervention, 10 minutes were waited, to know if the response was lasting, after this wash out of 10 minutes, the SDNN decreased in the intervention group with p= 0.027, in the orthostatic position, during the wash out the participant remained in supine, we did not obtain significant results in the supine position, and after this 10-minute wait, showed that the supine position disfavored the autonomic balance of this cardiopathic population. ;With the increase in thoracic mobility, comparing the three groups, there was a significant difference in the intervention group, in the measurement of blood pressure, and the diastolic pressure decreased after the intervention on the first day, in the standing position, difference of p = 0.015.;To analyze whether the mobility of the rib cage changed, cirtometry was performed, there was a significant difference in cirtometry of the axillary and umbilical points, axillary with p=0.014 and umbilical with p=0.002, in the intervention group at the pre-seventh day, with no difference between the groups and neither in the xiphoid point.
