Experimental group: 42 adults with obesity will receive 5gr (in sachets) of grape seed flour to consume during breakfast for 6 weeks Control group: 42 adults with obesity will receive 5gr (in sachets)

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male and female adults; between 20 and 59 years old; residents from Baixada Santista; with obesity, BMI between 30 and 39.9 kg/m²

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Regular or continuous use of anti-inflammatory or antibiotic medications in the last 3 months; chronic alcohol intake above 30grams per day; heart disease; liver disease; kidney disease; cancer; acute gastrointestinal problems, including diagnosed lactose intolerance; pregnancy or lactation; and menopause

MeasureTime frame
To analyze the modulation of the intestinal microbiota by the profile of Lactobacillus, Bifidobacteria, Akkermansia and Clostridium Coccoides bacteria by PCR analysis before and after supplementation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the body composition improvement by bioimpedance after 6 weeks of consumption of grape seed flour. Data will be collected in the week before and after treatment;It is expected to find improvement in biochemical parameters such as blood glucose, insulin, lipid profile through biochemical analysis performed before and after supplementation
