13 Years to 19 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adolescents enrolled in the first year in full-time public high schools; Adolescents who are students at the Vale do Capibaribe Regional Educational Administration in the state of Pernambuco.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Physical or mental disabilities; Adolescents enrolled in schools that do not implement the intervention protocol

MeasureTime frame
Decrease time in sedentary behavior monitored by accelerometry (Actigraph) after the intervention (6 months);Improve cognitive function measured by the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test after the intervention (6 months);Increase academic performance measured by standardized Math test after the intervention (6 months);Improve attention measured by the D2 test after the intervention (6 months);Decrease depressive symptoms measured by the Depression Scale of the Center for Epidemiologic Studies (CES-D) after the intervention (6 months);Decrease in the social isolation score assessed by the Social Isolation Questionnaire after the intervention (6 months)

Increase aerobic fitness levels measured by the Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run (PACER) after the intervention (6 months);Improve sleep quality measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index – PSQI after the intervention (6 months);Decrease in the social isolation score measured by Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A) after the intervention (6 months);Decrease in body fat measured by triceps and subscapular skinfolds after the intervention (6 months);Decrease in systolic blood pressure measured using an electronic monitor (Omron HEM 742) after the intervention (6 months);Decrease in heart rate measured using an electronic monitor (Omron HEM 742) after the intervention (6 months)
