Interventions

Initial assessment: The participants (n=30) will be submitted to the 1 bench press and squat maximum repetition tests and the bench press and squat power test with 60% of the 1 repetition maximum load
Cluster set training group (n=10): will perform 8 weeks (3Xweeks) of strength training, consisting of 3 sets of bench press and 3 sets of squats, performed with intra-series recovery interval
Control group (n=10): will only perform the evaluations
Final assessment: Participants will again be subjected to the 1 bench press and squat maximum repetition tests and the bench press and squat power test with 60% of the 1 repetition maximum load.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be between 18 and 24 years old; be physically active; do not perform strength training at the gym or perform inconsistently for up to 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Present positive PAR-Q; present osteomioarticular injury that interferes with evaluation results or training; make use of disallowed resources to increase training or evaluation performance

After 8 weeks of training, when performing the statistical comparison between the initial and final assessments, it is expected that the traditional set group will show a statistically greater increase in muscle strength than the cluster set group;It is expected that after 8 weeks of training, when performing the statistical comparison between the initial and final assessments, the group with cluster set will show a statistically higher increase in muscle power than the traditional set group;It is expected that after 8 weeks of training, when making the statistical comparison between the initial and final assessments, that there will be no significant differences in the increase of strength and muscular power between the training groups
