Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with acute lower respiratory infection

Interventions

After 72 hours of hospitalization, the intervention group will undergo aerobic physical activity on a treadmill 2 times a day, until hospital discharge, blood was also collected to assess inflammation

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient hospitalized for exacerbated COPD; both genders; without limitation of mobility.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Level of awareness by score Glasgow score less than fifteen; Borg dyspnoea score greater than seven; unstable heart disease; limited mobility; hemodynamic instabilit; mechanical ventilation

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The study showed that aerobic physical activity initiated in hospitalization of COPD patients did not worsen the inflammatory process, when it evaluated an inflammation before and after exercise;There was also an improvement in quality of life after one month of hospital discharge in the intervention group compared to the control group.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
There was no difference regarding rehospitalization between groups. ;There was no difference in the mortality rate between groups.
