Intervention Group: association of the transcervical introduction of Foley catheter for up to 24 h with the administration of Misoprostol 25 mcg intravaginal every 4 hours at most 8 doses, until labor

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy volunteers; females; over 18 years old; pregnant women with 41 full weeks of gestation who require induction of labor; with Bishop's index less than 6.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindication to the use of misoprostol. Contraindication to the use of Foley probe. Cervical dilation greater than or equal to 3 cm. Non-reassuring pre-induction cardiotocographic evaluation. Patients with high-risk pregnancies.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in the duretion of induction of labor; reduction in the number of doses of misoprostol; reduction in the required dose of oxytocin to achieve labor after cervical maturation; reduction in labor duration; reduction in hospital stay.Reduction in induction failure rate.
