Age
18 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Group 1 (n = 15): volunteers with grade II obesity (body mass index (BMI) between 35 and 39.9 kg / m²) associated with comorbidities or degree III obesity (BMI ? 40 kg / m²) with or without Comorbid conditions, referred to bariatric gastric bypass surgery (Roux-en-Y gastric bypass gastroplasty). Group 2 (n = 15): eutrophic volunteers, BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 kg / m².

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Muscle skeletal deformities or dysfunctions that interfere with balance; Neurological dysfunctions; Vestibular problems; Problems with uncorrectable vision with glasses or contact lenses; Use of orthoses for ambulation; Participate in a physical activity program in the last 6 months; Pregnancy; Cognitive problems.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The objective of this proposal is to analyze if there is improvement of the postural balance, mobility and body perception of obese patients after weight loss consequent to bariatric surgery. The outcomes for comparison are differences in postural balance, mobility, and body perception before and after surgery.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate if there is improvement of the static balance through the Mass Center oscillation of obese patients three months after bariatric surgery. Hypothesis: There will be improvement in the static balance and lower oscillation of the Mass Center of patients after three months of surgery.;To evaluate the mobility of obese patients through gait velocity tests and the "Time up and Go" test three months after bariatric surgery. Hypothesis: There will be improvement in the results of the tests, indicating improvement in the mobility of the patients after the surgery.;To analyze if three months after bariatric surgery there is a process of transformation and body acceptance of obese patients through the Questionnaire on Body Image. Hypothesis: There will be a change in the way patients understand their body and there will be greater acceptance of themselves.;To evaluate, three months after bariatric surgery, the degree of distortion and body dissatisfaction of obese patients through the Scale of Figures and Silhouettes. Hypothesis: There will be a decrease / absence of distortion and body dissatisfaction after weight loss due to surgery.;To evaluate, three months after bariatric surgery, the difficulty of obese patients to perform Daily Life Activities through the Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ). Hypothesis: It will be easier to perform activities of daily living after surgery.
