Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Have a desire to breastfeed; Be in prenatal care; Have gestational age between 35 and 37 weeks, calculated from the date of the last menstrual period or first trimester ultrasonography; Be 18 years of age or older; Have a fixed or mobile phone, for contact.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Anatomical alterations of the nipples that favor nipple trauma (inverted nipple, pseudoinverted); Residence outside the municipality of Goiânia - GO; Do not adhere to the proposed protocol on 4 consecutive days, or use another concomitant intervention; To present adverse effects to the proposed intervention.

MeasureTime frame
Absence of postnatal nipple trauma, verified by feed assessment form; breast evaluation; evaluation of the skin of the nipple region. The evaluation of the feeding will be by the instrument adapted from the form used by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) (1993 and 2009), and by the adaptation made by Vieira (2013). To follow the interventions will be applied instrument that investigates change in the skin characteristic of the areolomamilar region; improvement or worsening of pain; changes in breast skin and adverse events.

MeasureTime frame
Absence of nipple pain in the postpartum period, verified by the instrument investigating intensity and quality of pain through the Numerical Pain Scale and The McGill pain questionnaire adapted to the Portuguese language.
