Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The child must be between 5-10 years and 11 months old; parents have signed a consent form freely Clarified and child Consent Term freely Clarified, the child has a diagnosis of Down syndrome. The child must be between 5 to 10 years and 11 months old; parents have signed a consent form freely Clarified the child take part in the research by signing the Instrument of Consent Informed freely; the child is typically developing, presenting school grades above average (5.0) in two consecutive marking periods in the subjects of English Language, Mathematics and Physical Education; considered good students for the newsletter description given by school teachers / the classroom, be enrolled and attending regular network of public or private education.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The child is less than five years or over 10 years and 11 months; parents / guardians and the child does not agree to participate in the survey; have different diagnoses of Down syndrome, present co-occurrences of diseases that are not characteristic of Down syndrome according to the guidelines of care for people with Down syndrome (MINISTRY OF HEALTH, 2013). The child is less than five years or over 10 years and 11 months; parents / guardians and the child does not agree to participate in the survey; children have any involvement in its development or have a diagnosis that harms their performance in this study, such as learning disorders, syndromes, cerebral palsy, as well as having a history of prematurity and orthopedic surgeries in the upper limbs and are taking medicine which might jeopardize the manual skill of the child, such as psychotropic drugs.

MeasureTime frame
There Will be a difference in the results of maximum grip strength and manual dexterity among children with Down syndrome and typical, aged 5 to 10 years old, evaluated wiht MABC-2, Box and Blocks Test and stereognosis test descritp by Teixeira (2000).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
There will be difference between all age 5 to 10 years for grip strength and manual dexterity skills in children with Down syndrome and typical.
