Age
18 Years to 100 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Volunteers over the age of 18, with disc displacement with reduction, who sought the TMD clinic at the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri and who agreed to participate in the study by signing the Free and Informed Consent Form Informed Consent Form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Edentulous participants, patients who have previously been treated for TMD treatment and patients with systemic diseases that could cause joint and / or muscle changes.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Decrease in the level of pain on palpation of the facial muscles, verified through the RDC questionnaire (research diagnostic criteria) based on the observation of a variation of at least 5% of the pain scores before and after the intervention. The reevaluations will be carried out in 24h, 7 days and 30 days after the intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in quality of life related to oral health, verified through the OHIP-14 questionnaire (oral health impact profile, 14 items) from the finding of a decrease of at least 10 points in the total score of the questionnaire before and 30 days after intervention.
