Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Infants who have ankyloglossia and will be submitted to lingual frenotomy. In the Criciúma macroregion.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Infants aged six months or more; presence of other congenital malformations; prematurity; genetic syndromes; and mild ankyloglossia. Conditions that make it impossible to perform surgery; or the refusal of those responsible for the research participation. Patients with relapsed ankyloglossia. No signature of the TCLE.

| The immediate postoperative pain, after one week and after one month, are similar in both techniques operated. The presence of bleeding is minimal and equal in both procedures. Breastfeeding occurs on the first postoperative day among the research infants, as well as being adequate after the first week and the first month of the two procedures. The incidence of aftoid injury will be similar in both groups after. The appearance of infection is null in both groups, during the stipulated periods. Absence of relapse in both groups. | — |
