Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the motor skills of the participating children using the Gross Motor Development Test – second edition – as a measurement method; observing the standardized performance scores in locomotor skills and object control to verify the occurrence of the expected outcome; To evaluate the achievement of functional goals established for the participating children; using the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure applied through a semi-structured interview with parents or guardians; observing scores from one to ten assigned to the importance, the child's performance, and the level of satisfaction to verify the occurrence of the expected outcome

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the participants' functional balance capacity using the Pediatric Balance Scale, composed of fourteen items that examine static and dynamic balance in functional activities; observing the scores obtained on each item of the scale to verify the occurrence of the expected outcome; To assess the functional communicative skills of the participants; using the ABFW Test as a method, applied through systematic observation of a thirty-minute session of free interaction between the child and a familiar adult; observing the number of communicative acts, the communicative means employed, and the predominant communicative functions to verify the occurrence of the expected outcome; To assess the communicative and cognitive skills of the participants; using the Behavioral Observation Protocol applied in structured sessions of thirty to forty minutes recorded on video, in which the child interacts with the examiner using selected toys; observing communicative and cognitive manifestations, language progression, use of symbolism, and developmental functioning patterns to verify the occurrence of the expected outcome; To assess the participants' adaptive behavior using the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales in the motor subscale, which investigates gross and fine motor skills; observing the scores obtained to identify delays in motor development and verify the occurrence of the expected outcome
