Age
80 Years to 100 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Elderly people with 80 years old or more, enrolled in the service for more than 6 months; who have not exercised for at least three months; stable hypertension (no change in hypotension for at least 3 months) and agree to take part in the research through signing of the Informed Consent Forms (ICF).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hypertension, Congestive heart failure, recent myocardial infarction less than 6 months or in rehabilitation, recent embolism (systemic or pulmonary, acute infectious diseases, ventricular tachycardia and other severe arrhythmias, neuromuscular diseases untreated, or musculoskeletal and joint diseases untreated, chronic renal insufficiency, unbalanced diabetes recent cerebrovascular accident (less than 6 months) or incapacitating, medical certificate denying the physical ability to practice physical activity; clinical and laboratory tests that contra indicates the practice of physical activity.

Improvement in strength and cardiopulmonary fitness after the 12-week multicomponent exercise program verified by an increased of at least 10% in leg press, high pull, dynamometer and 10 RM test.;Improvement in balance after the 12-week multicomponent exercise program in at least 3% verified by the Berg balance test.

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in blood pressure of, at least, 5% after the program of 12 weeks of multicomponent exercises verified by the measurement of the casual blood pressure with semiautomatic device.
