60 Years to 79 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women aged 60 to 79 years were included; diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus for at least 1 year; cognitive score greater than 18 in Minimental; glycated hemoglobin above 6.5%; casual blood glucose up to 250 mg / dl; body mass index up to 40kg / m2; make use of insulin only as supplementation of glycemic control; normal or controlled systemic blood pressure with medication; released by the doctor to physical exercise

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: As voluntárias foram excluídas se realizassem exercícios físicos regulares ou fisioterapia motora; na presença de alterações auditivas; visuais e/ou motoras severas; ou ainda qualquer situação de saúde que impedissem a aplicação dos instrumentos avaliativos e a execução da intervenção proposta. Foram excluídas ainda se tivessem 2 faltas consecutivas ou 3 faltas alternadas

The expected outcomes were increased muscle strength verified by the strength test; reduction of oxidative stress through the analysis of pro-oxidant and antioxidant enzymes and increased functional capacity by reducing distance in the 6-minute walk test in pre and post-intervention measurements;The observed outcomes were the increase in muscle strength, verified by means of the force test of 26 ± 9.66 kg to 42.50 ± 7.90 kg; and oxidative stress reduction, reducing the pro-oxidant activity by means of TBARs from 3.76 ± 0.85 mg / ml to 2.52 ± 0.76 mg / ml and increasing antioxidant activity by means of the TEAC of 1 , 66 ± 0.13 ?mol / L for 2.17 ± 0.23 ?mol / L
