Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy men; age between 18 and 35 years; Minimum experience of six months in strength training or running on a treadmill

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Men with lower limb injuries; diagnosis of heart disease; smokers

Increase of at least 10% in the maximum speed and anaerobic threshold obtained through the Conconi test after eight weeks in the HIIT group. Significant improvements in the maximum speed and anaerobic threshold obtained through the Conconi test are not expected after eight weeks in the Traditional Strength Training group.;Increase of at least 20% in the maximum strength in the 1RM test of the Leg Press exercise and of 10% in the maximum strength in the 1RM knee extension test after eight weeks of traditional strength training. An improvement of at least 5% in maximum strength is expected in the 1RM test of the Leg Press exercise, without changes in the 1RM of the Knee Extension test in the HIIT group;Improvements of at least 5% in the height of the vertical jump are expected through the counter-movement jump test in both training groups
