Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Arterial hemodynamic function (heart rate, blood pressure, heart rate variability, carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity, central pressures, brachial artery flow-mediated dilation, and myointimal wall thickness of the right and left carotid arteries);Lower extremity venous hemodynamic function (clinical, perimetry and ultrasound evaluations);Cardiovascular and metabolic health parameters (diet, physical activity level, nicotine exposure, sleep quality, body mass index, blood lipids and blood glucose);Physical and functional capacity (flexibility, handgrip strength, lower limb strength, mobility and aerobic performance)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Redox state biomarkers (plasma malonaldehyde concentration, protein carbonylation, concentration of advanced oxidation protein products, plasma antioxidant capacity and activity of plasma antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase and catalase));Quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF and WHOQOL-OLD);Mood health markers (Brunel mood scale and Beck Depression Inventory)
