Conditions

Evaluation of the effect of Kinesiotaping tape on femoral quadriceps muscle. Musculoskeletal diseases

Interventions

The sample will be randomized in blocks and after randomization the individuals will be allocated into five groups, each representing a Kinesiotaping (KT) color (Group 1- KT Yellow
2- KT Blue
3- KT Beige
4- KT Black
5- KT Pink
6- KT Green). Afterwards, electromyographic and thermographic data will be collected in five phases of each evaluation. Step 1 (E1): Prior to applying KT tape and adhesive tape. 2nd Stage (E2): Immed

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were considered: Healthy individuals, with ages ranging from 18 to 35 years, male, who were willing to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were: presence of allergy or hypersensitivity to Kinesiotaping or tape, presence of acute or chronic lower limb injury, gait impairment and inability to walk, or who did not agree to participate in the study.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome: Muscle inhibition or activation (measured by electromyography) after application of Kinesiotaping tape at 15 and 50% stresses. ;Primary outcome: Increase or decrease in temperature (measured by surface thermography) of the femoral quadriceps region after the application of Kinesiotaping tape at 15 and 50% tensions and in their different colors.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes are not expected.
