Interventions

Interventional study with 30 patients with COPD, randomly divided into 2 groups: Control Group (CG) who performed aerobic exercises on the cycle ergometer and anaerobes with dumbbells, elastics and ba
(ii) 6 'walk test (6MWT)
(iii) Saint George's Quality of Life Questionnaire (SGRQ)
(iv) COPD assessment test (CAT)
(v) cardiopulmonary exercise test
and (vi) 1 repetition maximal test

Eligibility

Age
50 Months to 80 Months

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: with moderate to severe COPD, (post-bronchodilator FEV1> 30% and predicted <80%)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were: indication and / or use of chronic home oxygen therapy, inability to perform physical tests, symptomatic coronary disease, musculoskeletal limitation and neurological disease.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Comparing the pre and post intervention values, SG presented a significant difference in the following parameters: increase in distance walked in meters , improvement in all scores: CAT Score , Saint George Score and in the improvement of the maximum physical capacity with increase of VO2 (%) and VO2 .

Secondary

Comparing the pre and post intervention values, SG presented a significant difference in the following parameters: increase in distance walked in meters , improvement in all scores: CAT Score , Saint George Score (p 0.005) ) and in the improvement of the maximum physical capacity with increase of VO2 (%) and VO2 (L / min).
