Inclusion criteria: Men and women; between 18 and 40 years old; office workers

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of cardiovascular or metabolic diseases; infectious or inflammatory processes; severe chronic pain conditions; smokers

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that regular transitions from sitting to standing during the workday will promote improvements in cardiac autonomic modulation, hemodynamics, postural comfort, productivity, cognitive function, and mood, without significantly altering energy expenditure and body temperature. Autonomic modulation will be assessed by heart rate variability (HRV), recorded with the Polar H10 chest sensor and analyzed using Kubios HRV Standard software, considering the rMSSD, HF, LF, and LF/HF ratio indices. Hemodynamics will be evaluated through blood pressure and heart rate, measured using an Omron oscillometric device before and after each intervention. Postural comfort will be assessed using the Postural Diagram (18 body regions, scale 1–5), and thermal comfort will be evaluated by a subjective sensation and acceptability questionnaire, as well as the average skin temperature measured at 10 body points using Thermochron iButton sensors. Productivity will be assessed with the Rapid Instrument for Worker Productivity Assessment (IAPT), expressed as a total score (0–40) and a subjective productivity percentage. Cognitive function will be evaluated with the Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test (PASAT), considering the number of correct responses as a performance parameter, and mood will be assessed using the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), observing an increase in positive affect and a reduction in negative affect. Confirmation of the expected outcome will be indicated by increased rMSSD and HF, decreased LF/HF ratio and blood pressure, lower postural discomfort scores, higher thermal comfort and productivity indices, improved mood and cognitive function scores, without relevant changes in average energy expenditure and body temperature between experimental conditions
