Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Degree of dysphagia assessed through the Functional Oral Intake Scale that measures the amount of oral diet. This scale varies from level 1, where the individual feeds from an exclusive enteral diet to level 7 where the patient is able to safely eat orally at any consistency without the need for diet modification.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Degree of dysphagia presented evaluated through the result of the Risk Assessment Protocol for Dysphagia. This is a clinical evaluation where aspects of oral and pharyngeal phases of swallowing are observed such as: uptake, oral transit, swallowing reflex, laryngeal elevation, cervical auscultation. The result of this evaluation determines the degree of dysphagia presented, which can be: mild dysphagia; moderate dysphagia; Severe dysphagia.
