Interventions

Ninety participants will be randomly assigned to three groups: 30 subjects for the Pilates Method Group

Eligibility

Age
60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age 60 years or older; agree to participate in the study; no exacerbations or debilitating infections in the past three months; no contraindications to testing; not have neuromuscular diseases that present motor deficit, such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Guillain-Barré.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Accident during training that makes it impossible to continue the program; three consecutive absences in the intervention sessions; total frequency less than 25%; frequent delays that compromise the evolution of training; developing a disease that makes it impossible to exercise; withdrawal; difficulty in understanding the procedures proposed by the researchers.

Primary 1. Integrals of the EMG activity of the 8 muscles evaluated through a predictable perturbation, showed a significant effect for the group (Pilates and Control) x season interaction (APA1, APA2, APC1, APC2) was observed for the rectus abdominis, erector spinae , external oblique, gluteus medius and tibialis anterior.

When evaluating the performance in the model motor circuit, no effect was found in the moments, moment x group interaction for the variables of total time and fluidity when comparing the coordinative approach group in circuits with the control group.;Secondary 3. When comparing the coordinative approach group in circuits and the control group, it was not possible to observe an effect in the moments and in the moment x group interaction, however, there was an effect in the groups in the IAFG variable of the Senior Fitness Test battery.;Secondary 4. The activation order of both groups (Pilates and control) followed the following order of recruitment: erector spinae, tibialis anterior, medial gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris, gluteus medius and rectus abdominis.
