Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Recent diagnosis of breast cancer, starting chemotherapy, ECOG 0 to 1 or Karnofsky Index greater than 70, stage I to IV, age 20 to 65 years, availability to participate in interventions

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women on hormone therapy, severe mental disability, use of controlled medications, abuse of illicit substances, cognitive impairment and previous experience of meditation or yoga

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome - Reduced distress level, assessed with the Distress Thermometer, with a 100% reduction in the numerical scale scores. The Data was collected before and four weeks after the intervention.;Primary outcome - Reduced anxiety, assessed using the hospital anxiety scale, with a 30% reduction in the numerical scale scores. Data collected before the intervention and four weeks after the intervention.

MeasureTime frame
15% reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure values measured using an automatic digital blood pressure monitor. The measurements were performed before and after each intervention.;10% reduction of heart rate variability values, measured using a digital pulse oximeter. The measurements were performed before and after each intervention.;5% reduction in pulse oximetry values measured with a digital oximeter. The measurements were performed before and after each intervention.
