Interventions

Regarding the intervention protocol, participants will be assigned to one of three groups: 1) multicomponent physical training program (n = 50)
2) combined physical training program (n = 50)
or 3) counseling group (n = 50). Assignment will be based on convenience and participant availability
there will be no randomization. The masking will be removed
participants will know which group they are in, given that they will actually engage in the corresponding activities. Both training programs will take place three times a week on non-consecutive days,

in one week might translate to a lower perceived exertion in a subsequent week. Regarding the multicomponent physical training, sessions will be divided into four parts: (1) warm-up with low-intensity
(2) circuit-style strength exercises using resistance bands, free weights, and body weight (20–30 min)
(3) aerobic endurance and recreational activities (dance, games, or sports) (10–20 min)
and (4) cool-down, including relaxation, massage, and stretching exercises (5–10 min). For the combined training program, the warm-up will consist of dynamic stretching of major joints. The cool-down

Age
40 Years to 59 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male and female participants; aged 40 to 59; who have not participated in a regular physical exercise program in the last 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Significant physical or cognitive limitations affecting the conduct of assessments and interventions; acute or chronic clinical conditions without medical supervision

An improvement in blood pressure is expected in people with hypertension, measured with a digital device, comparing the weeks before and after the intervention;An improvement in glucose levels is expected in people with diabetes, measured through blood tests, comparing the weeks before and after the intervention;An improvement in body mass is expected in overweight and obese individuals, measured using a scale, by comparing the weeks before and after the intervention;An improvement in depression symptoms, measured through a questionnaire, is expected when comparing the weeks before and after the intervention;An improvement in stress symptoms, measured through a questionnaire, is expected when comparing the weeks before and after the intervention
