18 Years to 30 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age between 18 and 30; male; no history of knee or thigh injury in the past five years; had not undertaken any leg strength training during the previous six months.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Pain; swelling; inability to do exercises; asymptomatic orthopedic injuries or other pathology that limits the realization of maximum torque with the lower limbs; female.

| It is expected a difference on strength gain (torque) between the different eight-weeks strength training protocols, even though matched for equivalent volume and intensity. Muscle torque will be evaluated by an isokinetic dynamometer Cybex 6000. Increse in muscle torque after eigth weeks of strength training will be assessed by Cybex dynamometer. A difference of at least 30% of torque gain in the pre and post training among different groups will be considered. | It is expected a difference on muscle mass gain between the different eight-weeks training protocols , although matched for equivalent volume and intensity. Muscle mass will be evaluated by DEXA and functional performance by the triple hop distance test. Muscle mass will be evaluated by the percentage gain in muscle lean mass of the trained leg.;Isometric (3.1%) and isotonic training (3.9%) significantly increased muscle mass after eight weeks of strength training. ;It is expected a difference on functional performance gain between the different eight-weeks training protocols , although matched for equivalent volume and intensity. Functional performance will be evaluated by the triple hop distance test.
