Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: postmenopausal women (more than one year of amenorrhea) aged equal or higher than 55 years; stable chronic coronary artery disease documented by coronary angiography with at least one coronary lesion with higher than 50% reduction in vascular lumen; and BMI higher than 21.9 kg/m2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: dyslipidemia with plasma triglycerides level equal or higher than 500 mg/dL and total cholesterol equal or higher than 300 mg/dL; acute coronary syndrome (6 months or less); congenital heart disease; recent surgery (6 months or less); chronic renal failure, liver failure, clinically significant genetic, hematologic, rheumatic, respiratory, or metabolic diseases
