Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult patients (over 18 years of age) indicated for extraction of mandibular premolars for orthodontic or periodontal reasons; Permanent single-rooted teeth with complete root formation; Presence of vital pulp; Absence of periapical lesions on clinical and radiographic examination; A single, patent root canal; Teeth indicated for endodontic treatment prior to extraction; Signed Informed Consent Form (ICF)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Teeth with previous endodontic treatment; Teeth with incomplete root formation; Presence of radiographically visible periapical lesions; Internal or external root resorption; Calcification or obliteration of the root canal preventing instrumentation; Crown or root fractures; Presence of more than one root canal or root canal anatomy incompatible with the study criteria; Inability to establish an adequate working length; Patients who declined to participate in the study or withdrew their informed consent during the study
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Expected outcome 1: To evaluate the accuracy of working length control with the Tri Auto ZX2 endodontic motor using Optimum Torque Reverse (OTR) motion with the Automatic Apical Reverse (AAR) function programmed to the 0.5 and Zero positions, based on the difference between the working length (WL) and the actual tooth length after preparation (ATL2).;Outcome: A statistically significant difference was observed in the accuracy of working length control between the AAR 0.5 and AAR Zero settings (P = 0.005). The AAR Zero group showed a smaller mean difference between the working length and the actual tooth length after preparation (WL-ATL2), indicating greater accuracy compared to the AAR 0.5 group. | — |
