Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Both genders; regularly enrolled in the 6th semester of medical school; students who have completed the skin module (Tutorial Axis and Skills and Community Axis)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Students enrolled in semesters prior to the 6th; students with uneven levels; students who have completed the skin module or dermatology component in another course; students with more than 25% absences in the enrolled curricular component

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that medical students will see an improvement in their clinical performance in identifying and differentiating elementary dermatological lesions in different skin phototypes, simulated through moulage. This outcome will be verified using the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) tool for dermatological assessment. The results obtained before and after the moulage intervention will be analyzed, observing an increase in the percentage of correct identification and differentiation of lesions

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that students will see an increase in their self-confidence in performing dermatological physical examinations on various skin phototypes, as measured by the National League for Nursing (NLN) Learning Satisfaction and Self-Confidence Scales, observing an increase in self-confidence scores correlated with the practical performance achieved;It is expected that there will be an increase in student motivation for learning and practicing dermatological physical examination in various skin phototypes. This outcome will be evaluated using the Instructional Materials Motivation Survey (IMMS). IMMS scores will be analyzed, observing an increase in motivation levels;Students' clinical skills are expected to improve after exposure to simulated scenarios with moulage. This outcome will be assessed using the Creighton Interprofessional Collaborative Evaluation (C-ICE) and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for dermatological evaluation. The C-ICE scores and the checklist scores will be analyzed, respectively, observing an increase in clinical skills;Students are expected to demonstrate a positive perception of the aesthetic and tactile realism of artistic moulage in dermatological medicine education. This outcome will be investigated through semi-structured interviews, via qualitative analysis of student responses, identifying the positive influence of moulage realism on dermatology learning
