Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| An increase in performance and changes in muscle structure are expected. They will be checked using muscle assessment methods such as FES-cycling, ultrasound and electromyography. We will observe whether there was an increase in power, muscle torque and a reduction in stimulation cost of at least 10%. We will observe whether there was an increase in muscle thickness, cross-sectional area and pennation angle, in addition to a reduction in echo intensity of at least 10%. We will observe whether there has been an increase in the recruitment of motor units | — |
