Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Activation of motor units (RMS: root mean square): measured in microvolts (uV). The EMG assessment will be performed no more than 1 week before and 1 week after the intervention. It is expected that after treatment, individuals with low back pain will have increased motor activation in all muscle portions evaluated.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Questionnaires: Fears and beliefs about work (FABQ: contains 16 self-report items, which are divided into two subscales: the one that addresses the fears and beliefs of individuals in relation to work (FABQ-Work) and the one that addresses (FABAQ-Phys) Each item is graded on a 7-point Likert scale, which ranges from 0 (strongly disagree) to 6 (strongly agree); Level of Disability (Oswestry: has 10 sessions each with 6 items that relate pain to daily activities and the score is given in percentage where the results range from minimum disability to probable disability); Quality of life (SF-12: contains scores on the physical function, physical aspect, pain, general health, vitality, social function, emotional aspect and mental health dimensions that are measured through an instrument's own algorithm; Level of physical activity (IPAC: classifies the individual in sedentary, insufficient active, active or very active). It is expected that the scores of work-related and work-related fears and beliefs related to low back pain will decrease, as well as increase quality of life scores and level of physical activity.
