Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Expected Outcome 1: For the analysis of wound cosmesis in the third postoperative month, we expect a score above 4 on the Broke Stone Scar scale on the knees submitted to an intradermal suture with a non-absorbable barbed thread and less than 3 with the other techniques.;Outcome 1: A mean of 3.30 was observed in the knees with intra-dermal suture using barbed suture and a mean of 3 for intra-dermal suture using Monocryl suture, with p 0.70. The suture with simple sutures using nonabsorbable suture presented a mean of 1.91, with p less than 0.05 compared to other methods. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Expected Outcome 2: In the evaluation of knee pain in the third postoperative month, we expect pain above 5 on the visual analogue pain scale in the group submitted to intra-dermal suture with absorbable uniform and less than 3 in the other two groups.;Outcome 2: A mean pain of 3.48 was found in patients undergoing intra-dermal suturing with barbed wire and 2.75 with intra-dermal suturing with Monocryl wire, with p 0.55. Patients submitted to suturing with simple sutures and unabsorbable sutures had a mean of 2, with a static difference compared to patients in the group that used barbed sutures. | — |
