Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients over 18 years of age and of any NYHA functional class

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Psychotherapy patients; with psychotropic use during intervention; severe neurological sequel; severe psychiatric disorder.

MeasureTime frame
Expected Outcome 1: Depressive symptoms are common (15% to 36%) in patients with heart failure. Short-term psychotherapy (12 sessions) is expected to decrease depressive symptoms in patients with heart failure.;Outcome 1: After comparing the results of the scales (Beck Depression Inventory), the improvement in depressive symptoms (p value = 0.035) was observed from the short-term psychological intervention.;Expected Outcome 2: Anxiety disorders are common (56%) in patients with heart failure. Short-term psychotherapy (12 sessions) is expected to decrease anxiety symptoms in heart failure patients.;Outcome 2: No improvement in anxiety symptoms (p = 0.196) was observed from the short-term psychological intervention after comparing the results of the applied scales (Beck Anxiety Inventory).;Expected Outcome 3: Physical and emotional aspects impact the quality of life of patients with heart failure. Short-term psychotherapy (12 sessions) is expected to improve quality of life in heart failure patients.;Outcome 3: Quality of life improvement (p value = 0.009) was observed from the short-term psychological intervention after comparing the scales (Minessota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire).
