Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To evaluate the effectiveness of the Mckenzie method of therapy and mechanical diagnosis on pain and functionality of Brazilian Jiu jitsu practitioners with chronic knee pain. Descriptive statistics will summarize participant characteristics using mean (SD) or number (percentage) as appropriate. Continuous data will be evaluated for asymmetry by visual inspection of graphs and normality tests. Unadjusted mean (SD) values ??will be calculated for continuous primary and secondary variables at baseline, post-treatment and 10 weeks. For the hop test, the relative mean (normalized by the length of the limb) between the three valid trials will be used. In sequence, the variables will be submitted to normality, homogeneity and homoscedasticity tests to be submitted to descriptive statistical analysis and parametric inferences according to the needs of the data and the objectives of the study. In all analyses, a significance index of a equal to 95% appropriate for each statistical analysis will be used. All data will be analyzed using JASP0.14.1.0 an open-source statistics program. It is expected that there are no changes in the variables in response to the intervention when compared to the control group. | — |
