| An analytical study will be conducted, with the predictive variable being Healing Meditation, with the primary outcome variable being the weight loss. The women will be weighed with their street clothes and without shoes and verified their waist measurement at the beginning, and after 2 and 4 months. The variation of the weight will be compared between the intervention and control groups by the non-paired Student’s t-test or Mann-Whitney test, depending on the distribution of this variable. In addition, intragroup comparisons will be made between the initial time and post-intervention time, by the paired Student’s t-test or Wilcoxon Sign-Rank test. The analyses will be conducted with the intention-to-treat, it will be considered significant a value of p less than 0.05. Starting from the premise that meditation will increase the weight loss in 1.5% of the body mass, it will be necessary to have 24 women per group to generate a power of 80%, with Alpha of 5%, in the non-paired analysis (t-test) | — |
