Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Female nursing technical and auxiliaries professionals of the adult wards of the Hospital das Clínicas-UFPE that provide direct care to hospitalized patients. BMI between 18.5 and 29.9. Age range between 20 and 50 years of age. Chronic lumbago (3 months ago). Self-declaration of absence of a herniated disc, malignant tumor of any type, degenerative, infectious or rheumatic disease (rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis), or previous self-reported lumbar spine surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant women and infants. Allergic to micropore plaster. Professionals who perform only bureaucratic activities other than direct care for inpatients. Not performing the four sessions of auriculotherapy weekly.

MeasureTime frame
The Roland-Morris score for lumbar function in the Intervention group is expected to decrease after four weeks of auriculotherapy.;It is expected that the asymmetry and temperature values in the lumbar region will be reduced, measured by infrared digital thermography in the Intervention group, after four weeks of auriculotherapy.;It is expected to find a reduction of the finger-to-floor measurement in centimeters in the Intervention group, with improvement in lumbar mobility in the Intervention group, after four weeks of auriculotherapy.;It is expected to find a decrease in the values of kilograms-gallows needed to cause pressure pain in the lumbar region in the intervention group, after four weeks of auriculotherapy.

It is expected to find improved mobility, functionality and low back pain in female nursing professionals after four weeks of auriculotherapy.
