Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Lactating women; normal birth; term delivery; age between 18 and 40 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women with signs of clinical pathology; Infections; syphilis; HIV; Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract; Liver diseases; heart diseases; diabetes; hypertension; cancer; Mental disorder; Twin childbirth; Newborn with fetal malformations; Abortion history; Use of antithrombotics; Use of supplements containing vitamin E and / or A during pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: The most significant increase and maintenance of the vitamin A level in breast milk of infants in the supplemented group 2 and 3. To confirm the expected outcome, statistical tools will be used to compare the efficiency of supplementation regimen 3 (administration of 2 capsules of 400 IU every 1 day postpartum) with supplementation regimen 2 (administration of 1 capsule of 400 IU on the 1st and 20th postoperative days) with supplementation regimen 1 (administration of 1 capsule of 400 IU in the 1 day postpartum).

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: Increased retinol levels in maternal blood and milk following administration of vitamin E supplementation within 60 days postpartum. To verify the expected outcome, the efficiency of the three supplementation regimens adopted for the increase and maintenance of retinol levels in blood and breast milk in the determined period of time will be evaluated. Statistical tools will be used to verify variation in the retinol levels of the control, supplemented 1, supplemented 2 and supplemented groups 3.
