Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Men aged 20 to 40 years; normotensive; physically active; non-smokers; with a body mass index less than or equal to 30; without diseases; and not using medications; vitamins; or supplements on a regular basis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Physically inactive or highly active individuals; hypertensive individuals; obese individuals; those with regular use of medications and those with any disease.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess whether light intensity alters heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen consumption during progressive maximal exercise. Verified by electrocardiogram, heart rate monitor, auscultatory method, and blood gas analyzer. The outcome will be confirmed by significant differences (p = 0.05) between bright light and dim light in these parameters.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate whether light intensity modifies aerobic power and ventilatory thresholds. Verified by peak oxygen consumption and identification of ventilatory thresholds using a gas analyzer. Confirmed by significant differences (p = 0.05) in peak oxygen consumption, anaerobic threshold, and respiratory compensation point.;Evaluate whether light intensity alters post-exercise autonomic recovery. Verified by heart rate indices obtained during the first 5 minutes of recovery. Confirmed by significant differences (p = 0.05) in these indices between conditions.;Evaluate whether light intensity modifies the reduction in blood pressure and vascular conductance during late recovery. Verified by auscultatory blood pressure and brachial blood flow measured by Doppler ultrasonography. Confirmed by significant differences (p = 0.05) in blood pressure and vascular conductance between conditions.
