Interventions

Experimental group: 40 healthy and sedentary adults will be submitted to muscle strengthening of lateral hip rotators three times a week for 8 weeks. The intensity will be 80% of the test of a maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Young. Sedentary. Healthy adults, eighteen years of age or older, who have a range of medial hip rotation of at least twenty-five degrees and lateral hip rotation of at least five degrees. Perform less than thirty minutes five days a week of moderate intensity aerobic activity, twenty minutes on three days per week of aerobic activity of vigorous intensity. Perform less than two days per week of muscle strengthening or endurance activities. Have not undergone surgical procedures or hip rehabilitation or suffered musculoskeletal injury to the lower limbs / trunk in the last six months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Inability to perform the tests. Presence of muscle contraction during the passive stiffness test of RL of the hip. Pain reported during the procedure that prevents its correct execution.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the amount of medial rotation of the hip. Verified by 3D motion analysis. The parameter will be the amount of movement in degrees.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the amount of hip, knee and ankle movements in the frontal plane, from the knee in the transverse plane. In addition, it will have as secondary outcome, the adductor moment of the hip and abductor of the knee. Verified by 3D motion analysis, the amount of movement will be measured in degrees and the momentum will be evaluated in Newtons.
